We’re in Quebec.

We’re finally here! After a summer of visiting churches, we are now in Quebec about to start French language school. Today we had our placement exam; we’ll find out the results on Friday. For now, we are continuing to settle into our God-provided furnished apartment. We are so thankful for the way God has directed in everything so far.  We received word today from our ICA director (the MK school in the Ivory Coast) that the wall around the campus has been completed. We are praising God for this; we see it as another step in preparing for our return next summer and the re-opening of school in August 2004.

If you have any questions about our needed monthly support and language school tuition, please contact us. We trust that these will continue to come in to our EBM office. Our e-mail address remains the same.

Please pray for:

  • needed finances
  • ability to learn French
  • peace in West Africa.

Decisions Ahead

This last day of April finds us with only 5 weeks of school left. Seniors are beginning to realize that they will be returning to college in the states – some of them have never attended school in the US, so they are rather nervous! Most of them only know Africa as home; the US is a foreign country.

Please pray for their transition. Please pray about our choice of language school. There are 2 of them in Quebec that we are considering. Not only do we need to choose the school where we will get the best training, but we also need to consider our housing needs. We need wisdom for this important choice.

Tomorrow is Labor Day here in Dakar, so we won’t be in school. Some are looking forward to a day at the beach. Others will be working to plan 2 building outreaches that will take place this next month. Please pray now for those who will hear the gospel in their own language possibly for the first time.

Only 6 more weeks…

School has started again at Dakar Academy. We have only 6 short weeks left with lots of activities, in addition to school work, jammed in these weeks. Graduation, June 4th, will be here before we know it.

Our time at ICA was profitable. Slowly the campus is getting cleaned up and organized, and we’re able to start making plans about what will need done to re-open for school in August, 2004. It will be a big task, but not an impossible one. While at ICA, we became familiar with another ‘affordable’ option for language study for this next year.

We ask for your prayers that we make the right decision and choose the school where we can learn with the fewest distractions. When we know something more definite, we’ll let you know. Thanks for praying us safely back from ICA.
