Worldview Matters

This has been a rewarding summer as we have been traveling from church to church sharing the message of the authority of Scripture. As you know, this is the major issue that divides our nation…where are we going to find truth, in God’s Word or man’s ideas. This is the basis of one’s worldview.

Worldview matters, and it’s a big part of helping us make decisions in the coming elections. Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, recently stated that we need to “be salt and light…casting your (our) vote for those who will allow Christians to have as much religious freedom as possible so we can present biblical truths.”

Lois and I had the opportunity to hold a conference for a group of small churches near Salt Lake City in Utah. It happened to be the month of our 40thwedding anniversary, so we took time to visit the Grand Canyon (and Bryce and Zion Canyons). We met up with Jon Albert, a guide from Canyon Ministries, who not only pointed out things we might not have noticed otherwise, but gave us the backstory to people and landmarks there on the South Rim. He answered our questions as well as questions from others who just happened to be listening, always giving a clear reasonable testimony to the truth of the worldwide flood found in God’s Word. Best of all was when we took time out (several times throughout the day) to sit and listen as Jon read Psalms 104 and other passages attesting to the truth of what we were seeing. The day was one of the most worshipful experiences we have had in a long time. We highly recommend Canyon Ministries!

2016 – Not What We Expected!

This year has been quite eventful, both in our 6th year with Answers in Genesis and in our personal lives. We can’t adequately tell you how much it has meant to us to know you are praying for us. How blessed we are to know that at no time have our lives have been out of God’s control.

For the past couple of years, we have been doing conferences in Florida during the winter where we were able to stay with my mom and spend some time with her. This year as we were traveling down, my mom, aged 91, went into the hospital. Within a week, she had passed away, and is now healed and rejoicing with our Lord.

In March, Lois had cancer surgery which was followed by an infection that she fought for about a month. The good news is that the cancer was caught early and is gone – no chemo or radiation required.

Conferencing with Answers in Genesis continued, but for a  while I had to travel without my Lois, my greatest help. She is traveling with me again, but has another surgery in July. Pray that she will heal quickly without infection.

We’re currently at Sacandaga Bible Conference in New York speaking at one of their family camps, and will go from here to Camp Patmos on Kelly’s Island in Ohio to speak to the kids at their family camp.

Although busy, we feel blessed to be doing what we’re doing – sharing the gospel and challenging people to a greater faith in God’s Word. Recently, at a youth outreach in a small church in southern Ohio, I shared the gospel, starting with the history in Genesis. Three young men were saved that night. That’s why we do what we do. Thanks so much for your prayers and gifts that allow us to continue this ministry.
