I Don’t Know About Tomorrow

But I Know Who Holds My Hand

Late last year, it seemed that churches were unwilling to commit themselves to an Answers in Genesis conference, possibly due to the uncertainty of the future. Our conference schedule had dried up for the 2017 year. However, in our last newsletter we asked you to pray, and conference bookings picked up. Our January-February Florida schedule filled solid, and we have been out every week since the beginning of the year. Our first time to be at our home church this year was Easter Sunday, and we were blessed to be there.

Times are still uncertain and our nation is convulsing with divisive behavior. It seems that many people had been placing their hope in a big government to take care of their problems. When our leadership changed, these people lost their hope, and they are acting like people who have no hope.

I am so thankful that we don’t have to place our trust in government. We know that whatever happens, God is in control and we win in the end. But until Christ comes back, it can look kind of scary. Never has our nation so desperately needed to know where to turn for truth and our security.

I believe that the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter were built for such a time as this. We are smashing attendance projections in both places. People seem to be starving for truth; they want to know that the Bible really is true – all of it. Many need to see that there was a real global judgment in the past, and there is another one coming. Just as God provided the Ark of salvation from the flood to save those who believed, God has provided salvation from the judgement to come through His Son Jesus Christ.

This is an exciting ministry to be a part of – sharing in God’s mission to increase people’s faith in His Word during these uncertain times. Churches large or small, we will come to all, so give us a call today.

Who Is This Baby?

Who is that baby in the manger?
A baby too weak to even walk or talk;
He is the eternal Almighty God Who spoke the universe into existence,
The One Who walked and talked with Adam and Eve in perfect fellowship in a perfect earth with no death.
He is the One Who spoke the curse on Adam’s race because of their sin, bringing all of mankind under the penalty of physical death and eternal separation from God.
But wait – there’s more!
He is this same God Who took on human flesh and was born in that manger,
Whose physical body was related back to Adam.
He is the One Who walked and talked with people and raised dead bodies to life with His spoken Word.
He is the One Who died physically, but rose again from the dead to take the punishment of Adam’s race.
He is the One Who removed that sting of eternal death and separation from God.
He is the One Who spoke to holy men of old and gave us the very words of God Himself so we would know Who He is.
He is the One Who will judge this earth again with His spoken Word because of sin.
He is the One Who will come back to earth to restore things back to a place of perfection with no death,
So again we will walk and talk in perfect fellowship with the Creator,
The baby in the manger Who will reign forever!

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much…James 5:16b
In our last Gillespie Greetings, we requested prayer for ‘bookings’. What that simple word didn’t tell you was that our upcoming calendar at that time was empty even though I was faithfully calling every day – and we were concerned! So we asked you to pray. In the next few days, I booked 3 conferences, and now our calendar is full up to June 2017. Look for us in Alabama, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. Thanks so much for your faithful prayers!

Worldview Matters

This has been a rewarding summer as we have been traveling from church to church sharing the message of the authority of Scripture. As you know, this is the major issue that divides our nation…where are we going to find truth, in God’s Word or man’s ideas. This is the basis of one’s worldview.
Worldview matters, and it’s a big part of helping us make decisions in the coming elections. Ken Ham, founder of Answers in Genesis, recently stated that we need to “be salt and light…casting your (our) vote for those who will allow Christians to have as much religious freedom as possible so we can present biblical truths.”

Lois and I had the opportunity to hold a conference for a group of small churches near Salt Lake City in Utah. It happened to be the month of our 40thwedding anniversary, so we took time to visit the Grand Canyon (and Bryce and Zion Canyons). We met up with Jon Albert, a guide from Canyon Ministries, who not only pointed out things we might not have noticed otherwise, but gave us the backstory to people and landmarks there on the South Rim. He answered our questions as well as questions from others who just happened to be listening, always giving a clear reasonable testimony to the truth of the worldwide flood found in God’s Word. Best of all was when we took time out (several times throughout the day) to sit and listen as Jon read Psalms 104 and other passages attesting to the truth of what we were seeing. The day was one of the most worshipful experiences we have had in a long time. We highly recommend Canyon Ministries!
